Anna Warren rediscovered painting in oil in about 2005. Initially she painted on prepared heavyweight watercolour paper, enjoying the unexpected textures and ways of layering colour, but later started painting on canvas as well, especially on very small stretched canvases. The subject matter is often inspired by the natural world, especially the detail found inside plants, fruits and flowers.
